Privacy Policy

Contact: support@ridering.ro

RideRing is operated by the developer/publisher identified in its Google Play listing.

1. How RideRing works

RideRing uses Android screen capture only after you explicitly approve the Android system prompt. Screen images are analyzed locally on your device to identify ride-offer information and calculate efficiency indicators shown in the floating ring.

RideRing does not save video recordings and does not upload screen images or raw extracted screen text to the developer.

2. Information stored on your device

RideRing may store app settings and a local technical diagnostic journal. The diagnostic journal can include OCR timing and outcome counters, technical events, limited error information, numeric ride-offer observations and sanitized numeric recognition tokens such as fare, time and distance.

The diagnostic journal does not store screenshots, raw OCR text, addresses, contacts or GPS coordinates, and RideRing does not maintain a user-facing commercial ride history.

3. Diagnostic reports

You can voluntarily create a diagnostic ZIP report from the app. A report may include the app version, device model and manufacturer, Android version, timestamps, technical events, processing measurements, numeric ride-offer values and sanitized numeric recognition tokens needed to investigate errors.

Nothing is transmitted automatically. Before sharing, RideRing asks for confirmation and then hands the report to the sharing app you choose, such as an email or messaging app. That transmission is governed by the privacy policy of the service you choose.

4. Internet access

The current RideRing build does not request the Android INTERNET permission for ride analysis or diagnostic transmission. Ride-offer analysis is performed locally on the device.

5. Permissions

  • Screen capture (MediaProjection): used only after your explicit approval to analyze visible ride offers.
  • Display over other apps: used to show the floating RideRing indicator.
  • Notifications: used for visible capture/service status where supported by Android.

6. Your controls and deletion

You can stop screen analysis at any time from RideRing or Android controls. You can delete the local diagnostic journal from the diagnostics screen. You can also remove all RideRing local data by clearing the app's storage in Android settings or uninstalling the app.

If you voluntarily send a support email or diagnostic report to support@ridering.ro, the message and attachment may be retained for up to 12 months after the last support interaction for troubleshooting, follow-up and abuse prevention, unless a longer period is required by law. You may request earlier deletion by contacting the same address, subject to legal obligations.

7. Children

RideRing is intended for adult drivers and is not directed to children.

8. Third-party services

RideRing is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any ride-hailing platform. If you choose to share a diagnostic report using another app or service, that service's own privacy terms apply to the transmission.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when RideRing's features or data practices change. The date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
